The Jubilee Buys To Celebrate In Style
3 minutes read
If you aren’t already making plans for the four-day Jubilee weekend at the beginning of June (2-5 June), now may be a good start.
Since 2015, Her Majesty The Queen has held the title of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. And this year marks her Platinum Jubilee to celebrate 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
Whether you’re buying supplies for your garden party or looking for some limited-edition patriotic memorabilia, we have just the edit for you.
1. Fortnum’s The Jubilee Tea Party Hamper, £150
Fortnum’s Jubilee Tea Party Hamper is the ultimate buy if you plan to have friends over for tea. It’s got everything you could need: a tea blend, a selection of buttery biscuits, fruit preserves, tea towels and more. And they’re all packaged in Fortnum’s iconic blue.
2. Nyetimber Classic Cuvee Vintage Sparkling Wine, £37.50
British winemakers Nyetimer have released a limited-edition bottle of their Classic Cuvee MV, a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The Jubilee sleeve features little golden bubbles and a Union Jack. There are also seven crown illustrations, each symbolising a decade of The Queen’s time on the throne.
3. Clarins The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Hand and Nail Duo, £39
A duo of our favourite hand products, but now with a limited-edition Jubilee sleeve. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Hand and Nail Duo includes the Hand And Nail Treatment Balm and the Hand and Nail Treatment Cream: the former is a rich formula, ideal for very dry skin, and the latter is the lighter, classic version.
Both formulations include nourishing shea butter and other plant extracts that help soften and protect the hands and care for the nails and cuticles. Plus, £1 from each set sold will be donated to Greenfingers – a national charity dedicated to creating gardens for children’s hospices around the UK.
4. Harrods Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Coasters, £16.50
This set of four coasters is part of homeware designer Victoria Eggs‘ collection for the Platinum Jubilee. They feature delicate, hand-drawn elements inspired by The Queen’s coronation dress that Sir Norman Hartnell designed in 1952.
5. Charbonnel Et Walker Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Fine Milk & Dark Chocolate Selection, £75
Who doesn’t love receiving chocolate? A great gift to give a loved one (or even yourself), Charbonnel et Walker’s Fine Milk & Dark Chocolate Selection comes in a box specially designed to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee. Inside, you will find a selection of milk, and dark chocolate treats from the brand’s Heritage Collection, including Dark Chocolate Falstaff, Milk Chocolate Rocher Noisettes, Milk and Dark Chocolate Lemon Coconut.
6. Buckingham Palace X Biscuiteers Platinum Jubilee, £58
If you’re looking for the proper biscuits for your Jubilee tea party, this biscuit tin by Biscuiteers is the one to pick. Designed in collaboration with Buckingham Palace, the collection includes 15 lemon biscuits that are almost too pretty to eat.
7. Gill Heppell’s Platinum Jubilee Limited Edition Prints, £70
Gill Heppell (an official photographer for Windsor) has created three limited prints of Her Majesty The Queen. They are based on a photograph Gill took at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
She only made 70 prints for each of the three illustrations. So if you want one, you should probably hurry.
8. Halcyon Days Platinum Jubilee Teacup & Saucer, £85
If you’ve been looking for some new teacups (or if you enjoy collecting them), this limited edition set by Halcyon Days is worth looking into. It’s handcrafted from fine bone china, and the body of the teacup and saucer features clovers, daffodils, thistles and roses. These are collectively recognised as the Flowers of the Realm.
9. Emma Bridgewater Jubilee Tree Planting Tea Towel, £12
These vibrant tea towels by Emma Bridgewater aren’t just pretty to look at; they also serve a good cause. For every tea towel sold, £2 will be donated to The Queen’s Green Canopy, a tree-planting initiative created to mark the Platinum Jubilee. It runs throughout the Jubilee year in the UK.
