6 Beauty Daily Staffers Share What Their Holidays Look Like And The Beauty Product They’d Want To Give & Receive This Christmas
Sarah Joan Ross, Beauty Daily Editor
“I’ll be hosting but allocate jobs in true editor style. Husband will be on Mimosa and mulled wine duty, lighting the fire and sorting out the Spotify Christmas playlist. While simultaneously sourcing batteries for all the kid’s toys. In the kitchen, my mother and in-laws get the grubbier task of chopping onions, stuffing carcasses, polishing glasses, etc.
After the all-hands-on-deck traditional lunch, a country walk, and a snooze, by that time, it will probably signal cocktail hour and games, which will involve laughter, tears, and a few raised voices about who has stolen from the Monopoly bank. (Usually me.)
As for gifts, I was super inspired by the Facebook chat with Lauren Bush Lauren, and Clarins – if you missed it, check it out here. To date, Clarins x FEED has helped to distribute over 31 million meals to children all around the globe with their GWP of Clarins goodies housed in the FEED beauty bag. So, I, too, will be adopting the mantra of ‘gift with purpose’. Check out FEED Projects here; there’s a brilliant array of totes, shoppers and accessories that make great gifts.
I’m also sending things like re-fillable fragrances – try Eau Dynamisante, 100ml, £40, and Jo Loves Jo By Jo Loves A Fragrance Paintbrush Gel, £40. And Simsante Chocolate, from £3.50, it’s sustainable, organic, plant-based, has more nutrients than bars you buy off the shelf and is delicious. Plus, they donate 10% of profits to the ‘Spread a Smile’ Charity in India. This non-profit organisation is dedicated to the overall improvement, development and education of the most vulnerable in society, the children living and begging on the streets.”

“I celebrate Hannukah, not Christmas, but this time of the year is a good opportunity for the family to get together. On Hannukah, we eat latkes (potato pancakes) and doughnuts and go to a community Menorah lighting in town. Then, we usually go to a restaurant on Christmas day – but we don’t do the turkey with all the trimmings! And of course, my friends and I have meals to celebrate the holiday season and exchange gifts etc.
Fragrance is a lovely thing to gift someone for the holiday season. I’d choose Eau Dynamisante 200ml, £60. Its fresh and aromatic bouquet has a universal appeal – and it’s a body treatment and a scent! Perfume discovery sets (with a voucher for a full-size version) are another great option, as they allow the recipient to try and test before deciding which one they prefer. Ormonde Jayne’s scents are stunning, so I’d buy someone their Discovery Lab, £42, so they can decide which one they prefer.”

“My Christmas plans primarily involve good food, drinks and a Christmas playlist playing on loop for all of December. This will be my second Christmas away from home, which makes me sad. But London is beautiful during Christmastime, so I’m not complaining.
My friends aren’t really into beauty products. But home scents usually make great gifts – even for non-beauty lovers. I think they would appreciate the Eau Dynamisante Candle Trio, £ 27, as the scent is so well loved. Or the NEOM Wellbeing Pod Mini Essential Oil Diffuser, £55, a cute, compact diffuser. I would pair it with an essential oil blend that I think my friend would love.
I’ve been eyeing some silk pillowcases to protect my hair while I sleep. The simple white ones by Slip and Lilysilk look very promising. If I made a wish list for Santa, they would be on it.”

“I like to prepare personalised beauty gifts for my closest friends and relatives – sharing my beauty picks of the year, which I know work best and would be an excellent fit for them.
Beauty gift cards can be lovely, especially if they are a distance away.
Try: The Clarins E-Gift Card. It’s quick, easy and makes the perfect gift in one click! You can choose your preferred card design, add your personal holiday note, and the amount you’d want to give, and send the e-Gift certificate directly to your family or friend’s email inbox. Check here.
For some of my girlfriends, I used to prepare gifts with samples of different fragrances, and we had a lot of fun making ‘blind tests’ by guessing which scent they like the most without knowing the brand or name of it. But the best thing about the Christmas holidays is not about presents at all, but the opportunity to gather with your loved ones, and I hope this will happen to me this year, too.”
Anne Lora Scagliusi, Beauty Daily Beauty and Wellness Writer
“I usually fly home to Italy. Christmas Day is family day, and I always look forward to it because it has been a tradition to open Christmas presents early in the morning, followed by a massive and festive Christmas lunch which lasts five hours. Afterwards, we would usually walk to the Old Town, adorned with Christmas lights, decorations, and markets for passeggiata (stroll) to fully digest.
This year, I have discovered the powerful benefits of using essential oils daily. I’m a vocal fan of the Clarins Aroma Collection. Quite a luxury, but I use the aromatherapy shower gels and lotions. A perfect way to share this experience is to gift my family the Aroma Ritual Collection, £46, which includes the Tonic Moisturising Balm, Tonic Bath and Shower Concentrate and Tonic Scented Candle. I am also the number one fan of Clarins Treatment Fragrances. I have all four of them! I am looking to give one of the sets, specifically the Eau Extraordinaire Collection, £42. It evokes peace and harmony, and that’s what the holiday season is all about.
I have already prepared my Christmas wishlist, and number one on my list is the Foreo UFO TM 3, £428.96, Home Spa Facial to supercharge my bi-weekly home mask facials. It has the benefits of the most popular spa treatments, like Thermo-therapy, Cryo-therapy, LED light therapy and T-SonicTM massage. I swear by the brand and have used the Foreo Luna, to cleanse my skin for years.”
Charlotte McHale, Clarins Training Manager
“How I plan to celebrate Christmas is a bit TBC. I assume we’ll have a family Christmas, quite traditional. We’ll go to one of our parents’ houses (my fiance’s) for Christmas.
As for gift-giving, you need to know someone pretty well to buy them skincare unless they’ve requested something specifically. What I found about Christmas when I am in the store is that people try to stick to the non-age-specific options, so they don’t offend. So, Hydra Essential Range, everybody needs hydration. Double Serum, from £62 because it’s perfect for anybody 25+.
Body products are not usually things people invest in. So to get some nice aromatherapy bath and shower products from Clarins or maybe an bolstering body moisturiser is a lovely gift because you’re unlikely to get them for yourselves.
The gift I would want to receive is a really good lash serum, one that makes bold, beautiful, lush lashes. But, they’re pretty expensive, and a lot of trial and error is involved, so I’d rather have someone else pay for it than me.”
