January Wellness Challenge

1. Cancer Research UK’s 31 Days of Yoga in January

Yoga

Fancy doing yoga for 31 days in January? Then join Cancer Research UK’s 31 Days of Yoga. Do yoga for 30 min a day on average for the next 31 days. You can complete the challenge in any way that suits you, whether it is joining your local yoga class or studio or following a YouTube video of your choice. Yoga with Adriene is a good place to start, but if you’re experienced, take the lead, and create your flow.

By completing the challenge, you’ll help beat cancer by raising life-saving donations. According to Cancer Research UK, in the ‘70s, just one in four people survived their fight against cancer for 10 years or more. Today, with the help of research, two in four survive.

Cancer Research UK’s ambition is to see three in four people surviving cancer for 10 years or more by 2034.

5. Veganuary

Vegan Food

Had an indulgent meat fest over the holiday season? We can relate. Who can say no to those salivating roast beef and turkey trimmings? No one. But if you feel a bit guilty, taking some time off meat would be a good overhaul reset.

Signing up to Veganuary, a global movement challenging people to go vegan for 31 days, would be your best bet. Over 629,000 people signed up for Veganuary’s 2022 challenge and it’s getting bigger year after year. With sustainability and climate change at the forefront of our minds, it’s no surprise most of us are looking for ways to live greener. The best way to do that is to eliminate meat, specifically beef, from our diets. Scientists agree that cutting out meat is the single best way individuals can tackle the climate and wildlife crises.

According to experts, a vegan diet is an antioxidant-rich one; it’s loaded with vegetables and fruit that can combat acne and reduce acne formation while promoting radiance and a healthy glow of the skin. In addition, people who don’t eat meat have a lower risk of heart disease.

This January challenge helps you get on track with your spending and cut back on not essentials like coffee runs, eating out or unnecessary shopping. The challenge doesn’t force you to not spend at all but low spend at least to make sure you recover from your festive debt. Happy saving!
